On a chilly Saturday afternoon in Chicago, Abby and her friend Lauren headed to Wrigleyville for a fun day out. Their mutual friend Ben invited them to meet him and his childhood friend Joey at Sluggers—a moment that would change everything.

Abby had never met Joey before, but when they arrived, she walked right up and introduced herself. From the first conversation, something just clicked. They spent the rest of the night laughing and getting to know each other (Pictured above - their first photo together that night at Sluggers). Before they left, they exchanged numbers and just five days later they had their first date at Butcher’s Tap. It didn’t take long to realize this was the real deal and their love story began.

Their relationship has been filled with endless adventures—visits to Lincoln Park Zoo, unforgettable trips to cities all over the country, quick weekend getaways to Wisconsin and Michigan, football Sundays at Derno’s (their favorite local bar), and countless date nights exploring Chicago.

Then, on November 21, 2024, what Abby thought was their annual Christmas Date Night turned into a moment she’d never forget. After strolling through the twinkling Lincoln Park Zoo Lights, Joey got down on one knee and asked Abby to marry him.

It was the easiest “yes” of her life. Now, they can’t wait to spend forever together and celebrate with all their favorite people on December 6, 2025!!!
